After Pregnancy
Back In Shape After Pregnancy
Pregnancy can take a toll on a woman's body. While she is providing nourishment for her little one she is also adding pounds to her body. The key to being fit is to keep active during your pregnancy and it does help too if you were in shape before the pregnancy. It is a tough route after the baby is born and you want your figure back. Some women still have their baby weight while on others it just seems to melt away.
To get in shape quickly start as soon as you can. If after delivery you feel good, then do a few sit ups, run on the treadmill, or take a nice walk (with the stroller and baby, of course). You see moms doing this all the time and that is why. If you exercise before you were pregnant and during the pregnancy it may be easier to get the old work out routine up and running again. Get motivated and push yourself. You can do it. After all you just had a baby. Try joining a gym or working out with friends. A personal trainer would not hurt if you feel that you need one.
Along with exercise comes a proper diet. You just were pregnant and probably eating the best well balanced diet of your entire life. It is just that simple. Keep it that way. Eat a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. They provide some of the best nutrients around. Focus on your protein, iron, calcium, and folic acid. If needed supplements for all of these can be taken. Snack of carrot sticks instead of a candy bar. Another fun fact is that breast feeding actually burns quite a few calories. Consider feeding your baby this way so you look great and also get an awesome bond with your little one.
Some exercises to try after delivery are pelvic floor exercises. Be sure to take it one step at a time. Slow and steady is best. If you had a c-section make sure that you take doctor's orders and wait until your body is ready to exercise again. Babies and pregnancy can cause women to not feel so great about their bodies. Take pride in that little one that you are holding. While they are napping you start exercising. You will want to nap too though. Seriously just cleaning your home can be a workout and once someone starts watching your baby you can take time out to tone. |
