After Pregnancy
Planning The Nursery
Planning your new little ones nursery is one of the funniest parts of having a baby. It is never too early to begin planning. The minute you find out that your pregnant is a time to start looking for cute bedroom ideas and up until your newborn arrives you have time to create a perfect place for him or her to call home. You may wish to wait until you find out if you are having a boy or girl to start planning a nursery. This way you can match the according pinks and blues to the appropriate gender. Maybe you want to be surprised when you deliver. You can still plan a nursery around this too.
The first step in planning a nursery is the space. Some parents to be have a two-bedroom apartment or house that allows for the baby to sleep in their own space. Consider having a bassinet in your room if you are breast-feeding or if two bedrooms are not applicable. This keeps mom and baby within close proximity of one another. Keep the rooms close to each other if you wish to have separate rooms for parents and baby. Sunlight and cars play strong issues for a new baby. They all keep awkward sleeping habits and if the sun is shining in on them they will not be too happy. Darker curtains will help this problem just do not play the crib next to them so that the cord does not dangle into the baby's bed. For the car issue you may want to address this before you purchase a home close to a highway. You cannot stop moving cars so that your little one can nap.
The theme of your baby's nursery can involve cartoon characters such as Looney Tunes or be your basic pinks and purples for a baby girl and blues and greens for a baby boy. If you are unsure of the gender a nursery can still be planned. Use soft greens and yellows to complete the look that you want. Furniture can be bought from an infant specialty store depending on your budget. If you are low in funds or are looking to cut corners some how consider buying baby furniture from a second hand shop. These shops carry items that are gently used for a price that new parents can afford. Some pieces of furniture are quite a great buy if they convert to toddler pieces. This saves money in the long run as children grow and become increasingly more expensive. Decorating the nursery is the final step before your little one arrives. Make it personal and comforting, as your baby will appreciate it. |
